03 - Get all Rascist with William Shatner in 'The Intruder' (NSFW)
Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:33AM
***NOTE***
This episode of MYMHM features language and imagery which makes it unsuitable for younger viewers and NSFW.
In this episode we take a look at THREE Roger Corman films, and review them ALL AT THE SAME TIME!
Because THEY'RE THE SAME FILM!
Largely rumored to be the only Corman film to lose money, William Shatner plays an anti-integration rabble rouser, sent to a small town about to integrate their schools. This is a hard hitting look at 1960's race relations.

I wasn't sure if I would like this movie given the subject matter, but it turned out to be a pretty good film. I had to chuckle a little bit when Shatner was delivering the long speeches because even early in his career he was, well, Shatner.
It really is a fantastic example of civil rights exploitation, and I feel still resonates today.
Watching Shatner lose control of the town is a little like reading 'Needful Things'. This is one of his better performances (IMO), but he still gets a little over the top.
Not a bad little experience, made all the better by the fact that you can watch it for FREE!
The acting in some of these really old B-Movies makes me really think that we need to popularize the term "C-Movies"...but that could just get confusing. "Yes, I See-Movies too..." Otherwise Yvonne was spot-on with how I felt.
